NEWS FROM WINTERINGHAM METHODIST CHURCH
Work on the refurbishment of the Chapel started on Monday 9th May. Whilst the work is ongoing services will be held at 10.30am as usual but they will be in The Barn. There is still room for parking but drivers are advised to take extra care when parking at the Chapel.
Members of the Chapel are helping to organize and run the 'PicNic on the Playing Field' on Saturday 11th June. This is a village event to celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday.
On Sunday 22nd May the service was led by Rev David Leese. This is the last service that Rev Leese will take at Winteringham before he retires as the Circuit Superintendent.
Members of Winteringham Chapel travelled to Roxby for a Circuit Service on Sunday 29th May and on Sunday 5th June the service will be at 4pm followed by the AGM meeting and a faith tea.
Instead of the usual Wednesday Club meeting there will be a Young People's Service at 6pm on Wednesday 29th June. Everyone is invited to join the young people in their special service. ALL young people are invited to come along on a Wednesday night at 6 pm (and parents too if they so wish) for an hour of stories, craft activities and hopefully, during the spring, time spent outside enjoying games in the Car Park.
This year our Sponsored Walk and BBQ will be on Sunday 10th July. The money raised will go to the Birmingham Children's Eye Hospital.
It is hoped that the raised beds will be full of colourful flowers ready for the Winteringham Open Gardens Event on Sunday 24th July 2016. If the refurbishment of the Chapel is finished then this too will be open for people to look around.
You do not need to be a member of the chapel to join in with any of our events. Just come along, we always offer a very warm welcome to everyone, youngsters and adults.
The Barn is available for hire and the facilities are superb (including a disabled lift). We have lots of groups who regularly meet in it as well as small private parties being held. (Between 30/ 40 people seated is comfortable). (Please contact Martyn or Christine Hammond on 01724 733641)
