NEWS FROM WINTERINGHAM METHODIST CHURCH
The Young People's Friendship Group held a collection of pennies for 'Turn on the Tap' and a cheque for £150 has been sent off to Samaritans Purse for their water aid appeal to help to purchase water filters for people in desperate need of clean water to drink.
Their next fund raising event is on Wednesday 24th September at 6 pm. A Beetle Drive will be held and the proceeds will all be going to the local McMillan Nurses. Everyone, young and old is invited to come along and support the young people efforts.
The Chapel Anniversary is on Sunday 21st September when Rev Henry Dubois will be taking the services at 10.30 am and 6 pm.
During the Music & Arts Festival Weekend, on Saturday 4th October and Sunday 5th October the Ermine Art Group will be holding a display of their paintings in The Barn. On the Sunday afternoon refreshments will be served in The Chapel and a sale of secondhand books will be held.
Our Harvest Weekend is on 18th/19th October. Tickets will shortly be on sale for the Harvest Supper followed by entertainment by The Burgage Band. Last year a number of people were disappointed not to get a ticket for the supper so don't be late in asking Will Maw for yours.
Every Wednesday evening our Young Peoples Friendship Group meet and now they use the Barn for all of their indoor activities. All young people, ages 4 to 16 years, (and their parents too if they wish to come along to enjoy a coffee and a chat) are invited to come along for an hour, 6pm to 7pm.
You do not need to be a member of the chapel to enjoy this social hour or to join in with any of our events. We always offer a very warm welcome to everyone
