NEWS FROM WINTERINGHAM METHODIST CHURCH
Our Harvest Weekend was on 18th/19th October. Tickets for the Harvest Supper followed by entertainment by The Burgage Band were sold out a week before the event. The donations of tins of food, tea, coffee, etc brought to the Harvest Service were taken to The Forge.
After the Remembrance Service at the Village War Memorial, numerous people came back to the Chapel for the service to re-dedicate the refurbished Roll of Honour for men from the village who had served in the First World War. The Roll of Honour is now hanging in the Chapel for everyone to see.
On 12th November at the Wednesday Friendship Group Meeting the young people filled shoe boxes for the Christmas Child appeal. On 16th November these, along with numerous boxes from members of the congregation, were handed over at the Family Service and will be taken to the distribution point.
Plans are now in hand for future services and events to celebrate Christmas. On Wednesday 17th December the Rainbow Puppet will be entertaining at the Christmas Event for young people. All young people and their mums & dads are invited to attend this entertainment where refreshments will be served.
Every Wednesday evening our Young Peoples Friendship Group meet and now they use the Barn for all of their indoor activities. All young people, ages 4 to 16 years, (and their parents too if they wish to come along to enjoy a coffee and a chat) are invited to come along for an hour, 6pm to 7pm.
You do not need to be a member of the chapel to enjoy this social hour or to join in with any of our events. We always offer a very warm welcome to everyone
